Welcome to Sheldon Coates Elementary School!
At SCES, our mission is to foster leadership capacity by valuing, supporting, and challenging each student. We do this by delivering high-quality learning environments and experiences that promote the academic, social, and emotional development of the young children we serve. This work is undergirded by the principle that all kids are our kids and the belief that all students can learn at high levels.
Our school has many strengths. Our small size allows us to get to know each student individually. Our dedicated teachers and support staff are lifelong learners who continuously seek to improve their professional practice to enhance student learning. Being located adjacent to the forest, we are able to provide authentic outdoor learning experiences for every student every day. We have strong working relationships with our partners in education, including our parent/guardian community and a number of local businesses and organizations.
